More Information About Video Streaming

Video Streaming is the term most commonly used to describe the delivery of live or stored video over IP (Internet Protocol) networks.

Video is probably the most popular communication medium, and is used by Corporate, Education and Government organisations to Broadcast, Collaborate, Inform, Monitor & Teach the world over.

Storing video 'assets' digitally, on a computer network, removes the possibility of damage to traditional media such as video tapes and DVD's. The risk of losing assets is further reduced and, knowing that sensitive or confidential material can be held centrally, is also more secure is another key benefit.

Video Streaming also supports the broadcasting of analogue or digital terrestrial television, satellite or cable channels, across your IP network. This is often referred to as IPTV.

Video on demand (VoD) is the term used for scheduling the playback of video material to the desktop, or a meeting venue, at a more convenient time.

The whole concept of when and where video can be viewed is evolving by the day.
