More Information About Digital Signage

Digital Signage is a term used to describe a system for generating or displaying visual messages, often referred to as 'content', on an electronic display. The content is created using software on a computer, and may consist of a combination of text, graphics and live or stored video images. Static or moving images, text & graphics, can all be scaled and positioned to fit a defined space on an electronic screen, to create a 'custom' view. Data from other sources, such as web sites or computers, can be built in to the content using RSS feeds; ensuring that critical information is always up to date.

A Digital Signage Network (DSN) enables control of screen content and display devices over a local area network (LAN), or globally via a wide area network (WAN), such as the Internet. Using standard IP (Internet Protocol) Networks; Corporate, Education & Government organisations are now able to inform & communicate within their community; broadcasting messages instantly and securely, and without costly creation of content, which can go out of date very quickly.

Some of the applications for Digital Signage include; point of sale promotions, global enterprise communication, consolidation and distribution of information, guest communications, employee relations, public information and schedule posting, visitor information, interactive kiosks, advertising & health & safety bulletins.
